The Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE) is a 60 question, two-hour, multiple-choice examination. The exam tests students' understanding of the law governing the conduct of attorneys, including an understanding of the content and application of the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct, the ABA Model Code of Judicial Conduct, and other generally accepted ethical principles.
The MPRE is administered by the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) on behalf of the National Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE).
The Illinois Board of Admissions to the Bar requires a MPRE score of 80 or higher.
To register for the MPRE you must first create an account with NCBE. Information regarding creating an account and registering for the MPRE can be found by clicking here.
