There are two ways to add a section symbol (§) in a Word document:
Using the keyboard: Place the cursor where you want the section symbol. Press and hold down the Alt key on your keyboard. While holding down the Alt key, type in the numbers 0167. When you release the Alt key, the section symbol will appear.
Using the "Insert" Menu: Place the cursor where you want the section symbol. At the top of your screen, go to Insert > Symbol > More Symbols.
Go to the Special Characters tab, find Section in the list, click it, then click Insert.
Using the keyboard: Place the cursor where you want the symbol. Tap the Option key and the 6 key at the same time.
Using the Insert Menu: Place the cursor where you want the section symbol. Click Advanced Symbol > Special Characters > Section > Insert.
