International Bankruptcy: Home

This research guide provides a starting point for International Bankruptcy Research in the U. S. Research and development by Azam Zarechahoki, LLM '17

Welcome to Law 794: International Bankruptcy

This research guide focuses on how different countries and regions deal with the increasingly complex problems of distressed multi-national companies. Topics range from the different approaches to insolvency across the US and Canada, Latin America, western Europe, Japan and China, to managing cross-border cases, recognition by US courts of foreign insolvency proceedings, and the use of US Chapter 11 by foreign companies. As bankruptcy law in the United States is considered by Congress and the federal government, this research guide is about federal law only, and does not address state laws related to this issue.
